I had been talking to the bride to be, Brinda over phone and e-mails for almost 3 weeks and I got to meet her on the morning of reception in Kumarakom. Over breakfast, I was introduced to her family and Kumaran, her groom who had flown down from US just a couple of days earlier. Since none of the sides had a home in Kumarakom, they were all put up in 3 different hotels. These are truly wonderful people and personally took care to see that I am comfortable. Thanks a lot folks for that..<\/p>\n

My arrangements were made at the\u00a0Tharavadu Heritage Homes\u00a0<\/a>, a rustic but cozy place with a clear view of \u00a0Sri Kumaramangala Temple, just across a backwater canal. The temple was the venue for the wedding the following morning.<\/p>\n

I started with exploring Tharavadu and the surrounding town-scape. Lovely little town with lots of opportunities for even a casual street photographer. A high bridge went over the backwater canal and gave a breathtaking view of the temple and the easy-going village life.<\/p>\n

The reception was to be held at the sprawling\u00a0Zuri Resort\u00a0<\/a>, spread over 18 acres facing the enormous 205 sq km Vembanad lake. I went around Zuri looking a couple of times before starting with Brinda as she got ready for the evening.<\/p>\n

The wedding muhurtam was at 6:30 am at the temple. \u00a0Brinda was to start dressing up in the traditional saree and jewelry an hour earlier. Wedding was a very intimate family affair attended by family and close friends from both sides.<\/p>\n
